This past weekend Dave Hoffman and I traveled south to the Tetons for our first ski mountaineering races of the year. It just so happened that our first race was also the US National Championships.  While it seems unusual to have nationals so early in the season, it is one of three races used to select the national team to represent the United States at the World Championships in France.

Spam Cup #2 - 15km freestyle PDF Print E-mail

Saturday was Spam Cup #2 - this time a 15km freestyle (that's skate for all you non-nordorks).  Temperature was ...  COLD at -10F at race start.  Skies were sunny.  The course was a rolling circuit of 7.5kms twice, with the start/finish in the famed Rendezvous Biathlon stadium.  The field was packed with racers from Montana, Idaho and Utah.  GAS Intrinsik Nordic was out in force for the event with a total of 10 racers clad in the incredible new racing kit (see pics. below):
