The first race of the Bozeman Cyclocross Weekend took place at the community park in Big Sky, under the shadow of Lone Peak. The G.A.S./Intrinsik team organized the race, and thanks go out to Brad Morgan for putting on a great race. Conditions for the race were cloudy and cool with a brisk wind. The course was similar to last year, and featured a little bit of everything, dirt path, pavement, pasture, deep gravel, woodchips, and a popular "whoop-de-do" section. The course seemed to favor cornering skills and acceleration over raw power.

Men's Pro/Expert/SportThe 'Beat the Heat' mountain bike race in the South Hills of Billings was off to a strange start with the top 6 pro and expert riders missing a turn and riding off course in the first of three laps. Hence the confusion. |

Men's Semi Pro / Expert
After winning the state championship 8 days ago, John Curry rode away from the field, put his head down and never looked back to win the Thompson Park mountain bike race. John said that this week's race "felt harder than last week" but it certainly didn't look that way for every other rider who had him in sight for no more than the first fifteen minutes of the race. Finishing second and third were Ben Parsons from Kalispell and William Martin from Missoula .
