Once again, GAS racers headed west to contest the Butte 100 mountain bike race, a Montana classic.

Katie Davis, Lauren Kuennen, and Rachael Bernt all threw their hats in for the 50 this year. No surprise to anyone, Lauren won and set a new course record and Katie Davis took over an hour off her previous best to also land on the podium. First timer Rachael Bernt also put in a super strong sub 8 hour time. Nice work!

Jordan Holsinger, Nate Lovallo, Guy Mackenzie, Jeff Johnson, and Doug Schmidt all raced the 50 as well. Jordan of course put in a super strong time landing himself on the podium, riding with the lead group for a lot of the race.  This will probably be Jordan's last race in MT for a while as he and Katie head east for new adventures. Best of luck!

John Weyrich

Alex Hassman and John Weyhrich were the only GAS representatives in the 100 this year.  Alex raced hard and put in a great sub 11 hour time, even though Nate forgot to bring his new jersey (sorry!!).

My favorite story this year must be John Weyrich. John left Whitefish after leading a bike tour for Adventure Cycling at 5 pm on Friday, arriving in Butte just in time to get 2(!!) hours of sleep, wake up, and race 100 miles. To no one's surprise, John put in a great effort and finished strong. Chapeau, John!
